Your Role in Our Practice As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist in providing high-quality, personalized dental care to our patients. You will be responsible for a variety of duties, and your skills in patient care, technical procedures, and office protocols will contribute directly to the success of our practice. Responsibilities (Duties) Professionally assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures. Prepare treatment rooms for patients and sterilize all dental instruments and equipment. Strictly follow all infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Take and develop dental X-rays (Radiology certification preferred). Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns (Training available). Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records systems (e.g. Open Dental). Provide patients with clear post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education. Help manage and order dental supplies and inventory. Be a positive and collaborative team player. Requirements (Skills) Dental Assistant certification or relevant diploma. Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is required. Proficiency in medical and dental terminology. Familiarity with dental software systems (e.g. Open Dental) is preferred. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws. Strong understanding of infection control procedures in a dental setting. Solid knowledge of dental anatomy. Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate, compassionate assistance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
