Practice/Work Schedule: Office hours - Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm w/flexibility of some Fridays or late/early days driven by patient needs. Job Overview/Description: We are looking for a skilled, diligent, companionate, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our awesome dental team (Three years of dental experience is preferred) The individual that we are looking for must be someone that has the capabilities to not only manage and develop exceptional patient relationships but can also develop and manage a team of dental assistants and sterile technicians to ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will be working and collaborating with all individuals in the practice. Your expertise and knowledge of dentistry will be key in implementing additional structure and flow in the practice. Job Duties Include: - Greeting and seating patients - Maintain and update patient medical records and documentation - Provide chairside assistance to the dentist(s) during procedures - Promote treatment and dental solutions that best fit the patients’ needs. - Have a strong knowledge of dental anatomy and medical terminology - Utilize Dentrix software for patient records and scheduling - Take impressions, Dental X-Rays, 3D Imaging and Scans as needed - Preparing the treatment rooms for the next patient - Perform patient assessments and assist with treatment planning - Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instruments and trays, and preparing materials. - Provide great patient care - Ensure accurate medical coding for billing purposes - Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory - Assisting dental hygienists when necessary - Recording treatment information in patient records - Reviewing treatment with patients and answering any questions - Performing Advanced Dental Assistant approved procedures (if applicable) - Using computers to update electronic patient records (Dentrix) - Design and Implementation of policies and procedures - Overseeing and training of both existing and future Dental Assistants and Sterile Techs - Assisting with lab tasks as needed - Assisting with front office tasks as needed - Treating patients Obstructive Sleep Apnea using a custom fitted oral appliance (if applicable) Requirements: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in dental assisting. - Proficient in using Dentrix software for scheduling and record keeping - Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, medical terminology, and dental procedures - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work well in a team environment and lead a team of dental assistants Benefits: - Competitive salary based on experience and knowledge - Uniform Allowance - Performance based Bonuses - Employee Discounts Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Paid training Uniform allowance Ability to Relocate: Anchorage, AK 99518: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
