Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) Part-Time to Full Time| Private General Practice | New Jersey Our private, single-doctor general practice is seeking a knowledgeable and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Perform thorough prophylaxis, periodontal therapy (SRP), and periodontal maintenance visits. Complete comprehensive periodontal charting including perio probing, bleeding points, recession, mobility, furcations, and plaque/calculus scores. Capture high-quality intraoral photos to support documentation, diagnosis, and patient communication. Take FMX, bitewings, and periapical radiographs following ADA and state guidelines. Conduct iTero wellness scans for new patients and hygiene recall visits; review scans chairside to illustrate changes, wear, recession, and treatment needs. Accurately assess periodontal health and collaborate with the doctor for co-diagnosis during hygiene exams. Patient Education Provide clear, customized oral hygiene instructions and preventive care recommendations. Educate patients on periodontal disease, caries risk, oral/systemic connections, and home-care strategies. Review iTero scans to help patients visualize areas of concern and understand recommended treatment. Support case acceptance through effective, compassionate communication in patient-friendly language. Thoroughly document findings, education, and treatment recommendations in the chart. Practice Workflow & Team Collaboration Manage time efficiently to maintain a smooth hygiene schedule. Communicate calmly and professionally with the doctor and clinical team regarding findings and treatment plans. Prepare and disinfect operatories following OSHA, CDC, and state infection-control guidelines. Maintain hygiene instruments, sterilization protocols, and equipment readiness. Assist with recall management, reactivation, and patient follow-ups as needed. Qualifications Active New Jersey RDH License. Local Anesthesia Permit (preferred but not mandatory based on practice needs). Experience with digital radiographs, intraoral cameras, and iTero scanning. Excellent communication skills and a passion for patient education. Organized, reliable, and able to work independently in a small private practice setting.
