Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our new pediatric practice! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a thorough understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, fun, and friendly presence. Experience with software like Open Dental is highly desirable, along with pediatric experience. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control standards. Take high quality dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Perform chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and materials as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow. Experience Candidates should possess experience in a dental clinic setting, showcasing proficiency in various aspects of dental assisting, including but not limited to: Knowledge of basic dental terminology. Experience in pediatrics is advantageous. Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control measures. Proficiency in using dental software, such as Open Dental, is preferred.
