Dental Assistant - Suri Dental Group - East Rockaway, NY

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, as well as experience in chairside assisting and patient care. This role is crucial in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care in a comfortable and efficient environment. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the dentist and other team members to support various dental procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a sterile working environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available Take dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Monitor vital signs and assist in managing patient comfort during procedures Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix for efficient record-keeping Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Support pediatric dentistry practices by providing specialized care for younger patients Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role in a dental clinic setting Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and equipment including 3D scanners Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices is preferred Experience with medical coding and records management is a plus Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix. Strong understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining patient comfort Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on patient education and support Knowledge of general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry is advantageous Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment Join us in providing exceptional dental care while advancing your career in a supportive setting.
