Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform comprehensive dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with our dental team to promote oral health and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and polishing procedures to maintain optimal oral health. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care instructions. Document patient information accurately in Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Take and develop dental radiographs using appropriate medical imaging equipment. Monitor patient comfort levels during procedures and address any concerns promptly. Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control standards and sterilization procedures. Experience Prior experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, including pediatric patient care and behavior management, is a plus. Experience with dental assisting, chairside assisting, and medical coding is beneficial. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to the oral cavity, and infection control practices is essential.
