We are a Pediatric Dental Office that is looking for a skilled Lead Orthodontic Assistant with a passion for Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry. We only have the orthodontist in office 2-4 times per month. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care while assisting the orthodontist in various procedures. Your expertise in dental assisting and knowledge of orthodontic practices will ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of care in a comfortable environment. Duties Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Perform X-rays and medical imaging as required, while adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, utilizing EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Conduct vital signs assessments and maintain accurate medical records. Collaborate with dental receptionists to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Support pediatric dentistry needs by providing compassionate care to younger patients. Utilize advanced technology such as 3D scanners for treatment planning and execution. Stay informed about dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices. Qualifications Proven experience as a dental assistant with a strong background in orthodontics is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Eaglesoft and Dentrix, is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical documentation, medical coding, and medical records management is essential. Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with a compassionate approach to working with children. Proficiency in chairside assisting techniques and familiarity with vital signs monitoring. Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within a dental clinic setting. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
