Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of dental terminology and practices. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays as needed, utilizing medical imaging technology effectively. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient patient management and scheduling. Provide chairside assistance, including taking vital signs and preparing materials for procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with surgical periodontic procedures. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure equipment is properly sterilized and functional. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a benefit. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices is essential. Experience with periodontic dentistry is highly desirable. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining patient comfort. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members. Understanding of medical documentation processes related to dental care. Certification in radiology or ability to obtain certification for X-ray operation is required.
