Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic. Experience in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering quality patient care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring proper sterilization and infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate medical imaging documentation. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental health practices using appropriate dental terminology. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures for insurance claims, and managing medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar EMR platforms. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Ability to perform X-ray procedures and utilize 3D scanners if available. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry preferred. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is required where applicable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
