Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care and will possess a strong understanding of dental practices and procedures. This role involves working closely with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding of dental health, while also assisting the dentist in various procedures. A background in pediatric dentistry is a plus, as we cater to patients of all ages. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, ensuring optimal oral health for patients. Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories. Utilize dental terminology accurately during patient interactions and documentation. Assist in chairside procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients. Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, including pediatric dentistry when necessary. Stay updated on advancements in dental technology and practices, including EMR systems and medical coding. Requirements Valid dental hygiene license in the state of practice. Experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix software is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and documentation review processes. Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining professionalism at all times.
