We are looking for a Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our team at Pontchartrain Dental! We are a doctor-owned, private practice with a growing patient base. The practice has been established for over 30 years. We have a collaborative, fun work environment! We are a fee for service and PPO practice only. We do not accept Medicaid. This is a part-time position. The office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 AM to 4 PM. Fully digital practice with OpenDental and Dexis. The salary will be discussed with the doctor during the interview process. We are looking to hire immediately. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Sterilize dental instruments properly Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Take X-rays Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases Skills Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Diploma in Dental Hygiene; Master’s is a plus Valid license to practice Must be a team player Job Type: Part-time Pay: $42.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week Benefits: Paid time off License/Certification: Dental Hygienist License (Required) Work Location: In person
