Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems and knowledge of pediatric dentistry are highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort during visits. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and record vital signs, medical history, and dental assessments for patients of all ages Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques Use medical imaging equipment to capture intraoral images as needed for diagnosis Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix Collaborate with dentists during examinations, including chairside assisting with procedures like cavity fillings or extractions Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding and records management Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and current infection control standards to provide high-quality patient care Experience Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification Prior experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable Experience with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, and chairside assisting is advantageous Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA regulations is essential Familiarity with dental assisting techniques, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is required Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health and dental procedures Previous experience working in dental clinics or dental offices is preferred Join our team to make a positive impact on patients' oral health while working in a supportive environment that values professional growth and excellence in patient care.
