Dental Assistant - New River Health Association - Lookout, WV

Hours: Monday - Wednesday (7:30 AM - 6:30 PM) FTE: 1.0 The Dental Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered dental care in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role assists dentists and dental hygienists during procedures, prepares and maintains treatment rooms, ensures proper infection control, and provides education and support to patients in alignment with FQHC standards of care, compliance, and community-focused service. Clinical Duties (Dental Assistant): Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including preparing and passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile field. Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and operatory rooms. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays). Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures. Maintain appropriate infection control procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a Dental Assistant training program. Current CPR/BLS certification Prior experience in dental assisting required Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment Familiarity with dental software systems is a plus Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
