Job Overview The beautiful private dental practice of Dr. Nancy Norling and Dr. Merissa Richter are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. We are a state-of-the-art dental practice where our team's focus is caring for our patients with exceptional and compassionate care. The ideal candidate will perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient health and comfort while working in a professional and supportive setting with a fun dedicated team of dental professionals. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque and tartar Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays in accordance with infection control protocols Ensure proper documentation review and accurate entry into electronic medical records (EMR systems) Support dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques Maintain infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Monitor patient comfort and provide compassionate care tailored to pediatric patients when applicable Review medical records for accurate documentation and coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations Adhere to all dental terminology standards and maintain knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other EMR systems Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge Experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic environments Skilled in chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and medical imaging techniques Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and documentation review Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Familiarity with medical coding processes related to dental procedures Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position is integral to providing high-quality dental care while supporting the overall health and well-being of our patients.
