Overview We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office management systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to ensure seamless integration into our team and efficient patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms Verify insurance coverage and benefits through insurance providers like Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurers Collect payments and process billing using medical billing software; handle copayments and outstanding balances Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to handle inquiries and appointment requests Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including intake forms, medical histories, and consent forms Assist with insurance claims processing, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review as needed Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies Ensure the front desk area remains organized, clean, and welcoming for patients Skills Proven experience in a medical or dental office environment with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth or similar platforms Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and health information management standards Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and efficiently Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA guidelines Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Experience with dental office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism This role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing exceptional patient care.
