Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred, along with familiarity in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures. The Registered Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans tailored to their needs Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques Take and develop medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed, including aseptic technique and sterilization protocols Monitor patient comfort during procedures and provide appropriate patient care throughout visits Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with the dental team to support general dentistry services and pediatric dentistry when applicable Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist Proven experience in dental office settings or clinics, with knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding preferred Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging procedures Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, medical terminology, documentation review, and medical coding is a plus Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' oral health while advancing your professional skills within a supportive environment.
