Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and medical history Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients Maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow Skills Proficient in EMR systems, particularly Dentrix and Eaglesoft Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Experience with chairside assisting techniques and aseptic technique practices Familiarity with medical imaging technologies such as 3D scanners Understanding of infection control standards within a dental clinic setting Ability to perform medical documentation accurately, including maintaining medical records and coding when necessary Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members Previous experience in a dental clinic is preferred but not mandatory Join our team to make a positive impact on our patients' oral health while advancing your career in the dental field!
