Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Mount Vernon, NY

This is a PART TIME position for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Our working hours on Thursday and Friday is 9-5, and Saturday is 9-3 Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, promote patient education, and ensure a comfortable, positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients of all ages. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining proper infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Review and document medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and record vital signs, medical history updates, and other relevant health information during appointments. Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment by adhering to infection control protocols and dental office standards. Assist with chairside procedures, including providing support during general dentistry treatments and pediatric dentistry cases. Ensure all documentation review, medical coding, and recordkeeping are completed meticulously for accurate billing and legal compliance. Collaborate with team members to improve workflow efficiency and deliver outstanding patient care in a fast-paced dental clinic setting. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on effective communication, empathy, and education. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times. Ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy and completeness within EMR systems. Pay: $70.00 per hour Expected hours: 27.0 per week Work Location: In person
