Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Sandusky, OH

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. We are a 2nd generation, family-owned dental office that has been in private practive over 45 years. We built a new building in 2016 that houses all Adec equipment and maintains up to date technology including hand held x-rays, piezos and digital scanners. The candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care that includes facilitating oral screenings, conducting thorough prophylaxis for preventative care, guiding patients through proper oral hygiene as well as assisting with other duties such as taking X-rays and maintaing accurate patient charts. This position requires a strong understanding of general dentistry and excellent communication skills. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories Perform dental cleanings and scaling procedures to maintain optimal oral health Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care Maintain aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients Utilize Dentrix software for patient records management and scheduling Apply dental coding and terminology accurately in patient documentation Collaborate with the dental and clerical teams to enhance patient care Maintain office efficiency through teamwork and participation in daily office duties Requirements Must have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program Valid dental hygiene license in the state of Ohio Familiarity with Dentrix software is a plus Knowledge of dental coding and terminology is advantageous Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Commitment to maintaining high standards of aseptic technique within the dental office environment.
