Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, familiarity with dental software, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient comfort. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and scheduling. Provide chairside assistance during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral health care, post-operative care, and preventive measures. Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures to ensure patient safety. Assist with administrative tasks such as managing appointments, answering phones, and handling patient inquiries. Experience Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with medical documentation, medical coding, and medical records management is beneficial. Proficiency in using 3D scanners or other advanced dental imaging technology is a plus. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous for those working with younger patients.
