Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring precision and efficiency. Perform expanded functions such as placing and finishing fillings, applying sealants, and taking impressions in accordance with state regulations. Take high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) and operate 3D scanners and other medical imaging equipment to support accurate diagnoses. Manage patient flow by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments using aseptic techniques, and maintaining infection control standards aligned with HIPAA guidelines. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to ensure patient safety before, during, and after procedures. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Open Dental to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical records while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and ready for use. Engage in ongoing professional development seminars and meetings related to personal and professional practice development and team building. Qualifications Certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) credential or equivalent licensure as required by state law.
