Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols, ensuring the highest standards of oral health care are delivered in a compassionate manner. Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry are highly valued. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque and calculus using ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with chairside procedures during general dentistry treatments, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Review medical records for relevant health information and ensure proper documentation review for treatment planning. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as updating medical coding and managing documentation review processes. Ensure the clinical environment adheres to OSHA standards and infection control guidelines. Qualifications Must be Fluent in Spanish Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist. Experience in pediatric dentistry preferred, with knowledge of pediatrics-specific procedures. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology. Experience with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and medical imaging procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems, documentation review, and medical coding is advantageous. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Ability to work efficiently in general dentistry settings, including pediatric dentistry environments. Prior dental office or clinic experience is highly desirable.
