Registered Dental Hygienist - Wooster Family Dental - Wooster, OH

We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. As a Dental Hygienist, you will build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye. We practice in a newly remolded facility, and utilize the latest technology., as well as a hygiene assistant. Appointment times are based on patient needs and your recommendation as a skilled provider. Our goal is to make our patients feel like family. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible throughout their appointment. Sterilize dental instruments properly/infection control. Conduct oral cancer screenings and check health history. Identify caries and proper periodontal diagnosis per patient needs. Preventative treatment (e.g. plaque and calculus removal, apply fluoride and sealants) Educate patients of all ages on proper home care techniques. Give proper instructions/ education after dental procedures. Take X-rays, dental impressions, fabricate whitening trays. Assist dentists with treatment planning/ oral cancer screening. Maintain documentation/charting/ perio-charting of each patient. Skills Experience as a Dental Hygienist (1 year preferred) In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g.HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication and teamwork skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Active Dental Hygiene license to practice in Ohio Local anesthesia certification CPR Certification Be willing to learn new technology Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: Salary negotiable based on experience.
