Our practice is your friendly neighborhood dental office in NW Portland. When you meet the Drs and our team, you will feel the difference between our practice and other dental offices. THIS POSITION IS MONDAY thru THURSDAY 7:30 am TO 5:30 pm AND FRIDAY 6:30 TO 4:30. DAYS ARE FLEXIBLE. HYGIENE PHILOSOPHY: In our practice, we believe in the importance of treating periodontal disease and evaluating pocket depth, gingival recession, attachment, level of bleeding, the presence of inflammation, bone loss patterns and, the degree of mobility, along with comprehensively informing the dentist of your findings and educating your patient. Experienced hygienists and new grads welcome to apply. Must have an Oregon license. COMPENSATION and PAID CONTINUING EDUCATION: Our office is progressive and we give our hygienists a choice of how they choose to be paid, either based on daily production with a daily minimum OR an hourly rate, between $60-$70. We offer coaching from an experienced hygienist, including hygiene laser training and the certification cost. We are happy to train and our hygienists are the best of the best. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontal disease Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Educate patients of all ages on proper oral health by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures Take X-rays or dental impressions Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Monitor supplies WAGE: Our pay range is $60 TO $80, DEPENDING ON YOUR CHOICE OF PAY. WE WILL PAY YOU AN HOURLY RATE OR PAY YOU ON PRODUCTION. YOUR CHOICE. BENEFITS: We pay 75% of your health insurance premium.
