Duties Perform a wide range of dental procedures including general dentistry, dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery with precision and care. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, performing oral examinations, and utilizing medical imaging techniques. Deliver high-quality patient care by explaining treatment options clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies. Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate diagnoses and treatment plans with patients and team members. Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols rigorously to prevent cross-contamination during all procedures. Operate dental equipment proficiently, including digital radiography systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix software for efficient documentation and treatment planning. Collaborate seamlessly with team members in a four-handed dentistry setup to enhance efficiency and patient experience. Stay updated on advancements in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patientâs needs. Adhere strictly to all safety standards related to medical imaging, infection control, and patient privacy laws such as HIPAA. Assist in dental fabrication processes when necessary for crowns, bridges, or other restorations. Participate actively in continuing education opportunities to refine skills in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and other relevant areas. Skills Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in dental office operations and clinical procedures. Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes. Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols. Skilled in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontics procedures, and oral surgeries with confidence. Ability to assess patients comprehensively through clinical examinations and medical/dental histories. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach that fosters trust and comfort during treatments. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles for treating children effectively within a family-oriented practice environment. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records privacy and security. Capable of working efficiently within a four-handed dentistry setup to optimize workflow. Knowledge of aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining sterile environments during all procedures. Ability to interpret medical imaging accurately for diagnosis and treatment planning purposes. Effective communication skills for explaining complex procedures clearly to patients of all ages while maintaining professionalism at all times.
