Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Plano, TX
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for promoting oral health. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and vital signs. Perform dental cleanings and treatments using appropriate techniques and instruments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Use dental software systems such as Open Dental for scheduling, documentation, and patient management. Stay updated on dental terminology, medical imaging, and anatomy knowledge to enhance patient care. Experience Candidates should have prior experience in a dental office or clinic setting. Familiarity with EMR systems and medical coding is preferred. Experience in dental implants, periodontic dentistry, orthodontic dentistry and general dentistry will be considered an asset. A strong understanding of infection control practices, documentation review, and patient care is essential for success in this role.
