Overview We are seeking a temporary with potential for long term to fill in for our beloved dental assistant while she is in maternity leave. Looking for a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dental team with various clinical and administrative tasks. This position is essential for ensuring a smooth workflow and maintaining a welcoming environment for our patients. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records and treatment plans. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care. Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office efficiency. Utilize advanced technology such as 3D scanners for imaging and prosthodontics procedures. Support pediatric dentistry by creating a comfortable environment for young patients. Skills Proficient in dental terminology and procedures, with a strong understanding of infection control practices. Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, along with the ability to engage effectively with children. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus. Knowledge of medical documentation standards and practices. Strong communication skills to interact positively with patients, families, and team members. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail.
