Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental/Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dental team in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and maintain the treatment/hygiene area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Take dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Manage patient records. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed. Maintain an organized inventory of dental supplies and equipment. Support the dental hygienist with periodontal charting, setup and clean rooms between patients. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology is essential. Proficiency in chairside assisting techniques and aseptic techniques. Strong understanding of dental terminology. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism. Prior experience in infection control practices within a dental clinic is highly valued.
