The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, friendly, and efficient, and will have: Job Summary A family owned and operated Dental Practice is seeking a Registered and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our family owned Dental Practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during treatments. This role involves performing a variety of clinical tasks, educating patients in oral hygiene, and maintaining compliance with health regulations. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments. Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care. Document patient treatments and progress in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Utilize Dentrix Ascend or similar dental software for patient management and documentation review. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all dental instruments are sterilized properly. Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies. Requirements The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, friendly, and efficient, and will have: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (OSHA, HIPAA) Proficiency in vital signs assessment and dental terminology. Experience in dental assisting is a plus, enhancing the ability to support the dental team effectively. Familiarity with a Dental Software preferrably Dentrix Ascend for efficient documentation management. A patient friendly personality Attention to detail Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills Valid license to practice in the state of Illinois.
