Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Temporary Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. This position could also become permanent if both parties would like to do so in the future. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive services. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and ensure a positive, comfortable experience for every patient. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns to tailor treatment plans effectively. Assist the dentist during examinations. Take dental radiographs while maintaining strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record systems such as Curve Software ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control procedures by adhering to sterilization standards, maintaining a sterile environment, and managing dental instruments properly. Document all treatments, observations, and patient interactions thoroughly for accurate medical coding and billing purposes. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Curve Software and Dexis. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of medical coding procedures related to dental treatments for accurate billing processes. Excellent communication skills to educate patients clearly about their oral health needs while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
