As we continue expanding our services in Sleep Apnea , TMJ Pain Therapy , and Dental Wellness , including advanced cosmetic modalities like EMFACE® , we are excited to welcome a hygienist who wants to grow with us. Your Role in Our Practice As a Dental Hygienist at Smiles Family Dental, you will play a key role in helping patients achieve better oral and systemic health. You will work closely with the dentist to deliver comprehensive, individualized hygiene care that supports long-term health and wellness. Responsibilities (Duties) Provide gentle, high-quality prophylaxis, SRP, periodontal maintenance, and oral hygiene education Perform full periodontal charting, caries risk assessments, and wellness-focused evaluations Take digital radiographs and intraoral photos Maintain strict sterilization and infection control standards Educate patients about prevention, nutrition, sleep apnea, TMJ, and wellness-focused care Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (Open Dental preferred) Collaborate closely with the dentist to develop individualized treatment plans Assist with managing hygiene inventory and clinical supplies Maintain a calm, professional, and compassionate presence at all times Support the practice mission of private, patient-centered, fee-for-service dental care Requirements (Skills & Qualifications) Active Dental Hygienist license (Maryland) CPR certification Prior clinical experience as a hygienist is preferred Strong communication skills and a patient-focused personality Knowledge of dental anatomy, periodontal disease, and systemic health Understanding of HIPAA and infection control protocols Experience with Open Dental or willingness to learn Ability to provide calm, gentle, and empathetic patient care Strong attention to detail and ability to document accurately Team-oriented attitude with a desire to grow in a private practice setting Compensation & Benefits We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
