Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with various dental software systems. Experience in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry is preferred. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining a sterile environment, managing medical records, and supporting both clinical and administrative tasks to enhance patient experience. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays using medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and standard radiography tools Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and knowledge of anatomy to prevent cross-contamination Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, updating medical documentation, and scheduling appointments Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and proper use of dental appliances Support administrative functions such as processing medical coding and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary and adapt communication style for pediatric patients Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures Ability to operate X-ray equipment and perform medical imaging tasks safely and effectively Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and data security Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is highly desirable Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position offers an engaging opportunity to be part of a professional team committed to delivering high-quality dental care.
