Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent patient care and a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology. This role involves assisting dentists during various treatments, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe environment in accordance with infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments are sterilized and ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as required. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain accurate medical documentation and assist with medical records management. Uphold aseptic techniques and infection control measures throughout the clinic. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry being a plus. Proficient in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology. Experience with medical coding and documentation is an advantage. Knowledge of 3D scanning technology is desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient information. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while providing exceptional patient care.
