Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform comprehensive dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a smooth clinical operation. Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry are highly valued. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth in accordance with best practices. Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration prior to procedures. Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare patients for treatment by reviewing medical history and explaining procedures clearly. Capture and interpret medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed using aseptic techniques. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal standards. Support general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry cases as required. Assist with medical coding and billing documentation to ensure proper recordkeeping. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state requirements. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred. Experience in dental office settings, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and vital signs assessment. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining patient comfort. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively across all age groups. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.
