Overview We are seeking a dedicated Dental Billing Specialist and Dental Assistant to join our busy dental practice. This dual role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both administrative and clinical operations within a professional dental environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of dental procedures, billing processes, and patient care, ensuring seamless service delivery and accurate medical documentation. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Duties Manage dental billing processes, including coding procedures using medical coding standards and ensuring accurate insurance claims submissions. Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Curve Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic with patient information, treatment notes, and billing data. Verify patient insurance coverage and explain treatment costs to patients while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist the dentist during clinical procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques, including chairside assisting and taking vital signs. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies while maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Take X-rays and operate 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols. Provide pediatric dental assistance when needed, including patient education on oral health and managing pediatric patients' special needs. Support administrative functions such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation. Assist in medical imaging procedures and record keeping related to both dental and medical records. Ensure compliance with all dental terminology standards, anatomy knowledge requirements, and clinical best practices. Requirements Proven experience in dental clinic settings with knowledge of dental assisting, billing, or administrative roles. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Curve Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry. Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks such as taking vital signs, X-rays, medical imaging, and providing four-handed dentistry support. Familiarity with medical documentation practices including medical coding for billing purposes. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and insurance claims. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion for patients of all ages.
