Permanent Dentist Job in Correctional Healthcare Partners

This position is for Whatcom County Jail in Bellingham, WA. Chosen candidate will work 24 hrs/wk 8 hrs/day. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Dentist to join our team. This role will focus on providing dental care to a diverse patient population within a correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to high-quality dental care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive dental care, including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and emergency dental services. Diagnose and treat oral health issues, including gum disease, cavities, and other dental problems. Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care practices to maintain long-term dental health. Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure the overall well-being of patients. Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards within a correctional facility. Minimum Qualifications: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school. Valid Washington dental license. At least one year of clinical dental experience, preferably in a correctional, public health, or underserved population setting. Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Strong diagnostic, treatment, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a correctional facility or similar environment. Familiarity with dental care for underserved populations. Continuing education or certifications in areas such as public health dentistry or oral surgery.
