Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and supporting the overall efficiency of our clinic. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems and dental office software such as Eaglesoft is highly preferred. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all patients, including pediatric populations. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health of patients Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations Assist with chairside procedures such as four-handed dentistry and medical imaging Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Document treatment procedures accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems) following HIPAA regulations Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with documentation standards and medical coding requirements Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments Take and interpret dental radiographs while ensuring patient safety and comfort Monitor patient vital signs during appointments and report any concerns to the dentist promptly Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a gentle approach tailored to children Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing with state regulations Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics; experience with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology Familiarity with EMR systems, documentation review, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations including pediatrics Ability to perform clinical duties such as chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and radiography with aseptic technique Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures in a dental setting Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join our team to provide outstanding dental care while advancing your professional skills in a supportive environment committed to excellence.
