Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our small private practice. This position works closely with our doctor to ensure amazing, personalized patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control. We require a happy personality, that can work on kids and adults just the same. This job is spending time getting to know patients and forming long-lasting relationships with families. We ensure patients have a unique experience where our ortho team cares about patient needs and requests. Must be punctual and must be at scheduled days Mon-Wednesday for patients and Thursday for non-patient days. Responsibilities Assist orthodontist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilizing instruments and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Take medical imaging as needed, including X-rays and photographs for patient records. Provide four-handed dentistry support during procedures, anticipating the needs of the orthodontist. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care specific to orthodontics. Manage patient records efficiently, including scheduling appointments and confirming follow-ups. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure seamless patient flow within the clinic. Maintain knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively assist with younger patients. Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic or as an Orthodontic Assistant is required. Familiarity with infection control standards and practices is essential for maintaining a safe environment. Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment is advantageous. Experience in four-handed dentistry techniques is highly desirable. Understanding of anatomy related to dental health will be beneficial in providing optimal patient care.
