Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments using aseptic techniques and maintaining infection control standards aligned with HIPAA regulations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), including 3D scans when necessary, to support accurate diagnoses and treatment planning. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, managing medical imaging equipment, and supporting the dentist with vital signs monitoring for pediatric and adult patients. Support the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and maintaining organized medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy standards. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge related to oral structures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently and safely. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology related to dentistry, and medical coding standards. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable; experience working with children is a plus. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists.
