Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support dental practitioners by providing chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental environment, delivering quality patient care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing patient comfort and operational efficiency while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and root canals with chairside support. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while following proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety guidelines. Record accurate medical history, vital signs, and medical documentation within EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices. Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and ensuring a clean clinical environment. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when required, demonstrating patience and excellent communication skills with young patients. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and perform basic troubleshooting as needed. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless clinic operations using dental terminology and medical coding practices. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with X-ray procedures, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging enhances candidacy. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry concepts and general dentistry procedures is a plus. Certification or training in dental assisting or related fields is desirable but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates committed to learning advanced skills such as 3D scanning or prosthodontics.
