Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support dental practitioners in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental environment, utilizing a broad range of clinical and administrative skills to enhance patient experiences and treatment outcomes. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) system Dentrix. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Manage patient flow by assisting with dental reception duties, scheduling appointments, and updating medical documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions using appropriate dental terminology. Support the use of dental software for medical coding, record keeping, and documentation of procedures performed. Ensure the clinic environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with all safety standards. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with EMR system Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with dental radiography including X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology is advantageous. Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus but not required. Certification or training in chairside assisting, medical imaging, or related fields will be considered an asset.
