Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques to ensure infection control. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and security. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support safe treatment environments for all patients. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology accurately and supporting procedures with proficiency in anatomy knowledge and medical imaging. Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring smooth clinic flow. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by local regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including X-ray techniques, infection control protocols, and aseptic technique. Familiarity with Open dental Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices to accurately document patient care. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and operate medical imaging equipment confidently. Strong understanding of anatomy related to oral health and the ability to support complex procedures such as prosthodontics and endodontics.
