Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Experience with EMR systems such as Open Dental is preferred. The role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and medical documentation. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality dental care across general dentistry and oral surgery. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments using chairside assisting techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take dental X-rays while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety standards. Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and medical imaging data accurately in electronic health records such as Open Dental Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain infection control standards by following strict sterilization protocols and aseptic techniques. Support administrative tasks including greeting patients, managing medical documentation, and assisting with billing or coding when necessary. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners when required for treatment planning. Educate patients on oral health procedures, post-treatment care, and preventive practices. Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting Proficiency with Open Dental Knowledge of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Certification or training in X-ray techniques, infection control, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge related to dentistry. Ability to perform chairside assisting for a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, and general dentistry treatments. Strong understanding of dental terminology Experience with Implants Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
