Overview: We are seeking a skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the orthodontist in various procedures. Essential Functions: Sitting for long periods of time Ability to use small tools Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling Written and verbal communication skills Computer and software skills Ability to read and interpret text on line and print Duties: Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and treatments Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments Take radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral scans Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Maintain accurate and detailed patient records Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring models and fabricating retainers Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment Experience: To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and qualifications: Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or Dental Assistant preferred (willing to train the right candidate) Familiarity with infection control procedures and protocols Strong understanding of dental terminology, including dental anatomy Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices Comfortable working with pediatric patients We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
