Job Summary As a Dental Hygienist , you will play a crucial role in providing preventive and therapeutic dental care to patients, working closely with the dentist to promote oral health and improve patient outcomes. This position involves performing cleanings, periodontal treatments, patient education, and assessments, ensuring patients receive high-quality care in a comfortable, welcoming environment. Duties Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations using appropriate tools and techniques. Assess and document patients' oral health status, including taking vital signs and recording medical histories. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations. Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix or CareStack for patient records management. Maintain aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and hygienic environment in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans based on patient needs and preferences. Stay updated on dental terminology and advancements in the field to provide the best care possible. Assist the dentist with periodontal assessments, oral cancer screenings, and other exams as needed. Qualifications Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program. State licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). Certification in local anesthesia (if required by state law). Proficiency with dental software (Dentrix or CareStack preferred), X-ray equipment, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, patient-focused approach. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Hygienist in a clinical setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with dental software systems (Dentrix) is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques is essential for success in this role. This role focuses on preventive care, patient education, and clinical support, requiring both technical skills and the ability to build patient trust.
