Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and terminology. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on providing exceptional oral health services to patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry. The Registered Dental Hygienist will be responsible for delivering preventive dental care, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting the overall operations of the dental team. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Utilize dental imaging equipment and document findings accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft. Maintain strict infection control protocols adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety. Review medical records for relevant health information that impacts dental treatment planning. Manage documentation review and medical coding to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience with reputable references. Proven experience working in dental clinics or offices. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties when necessary, including taking vital signs and assisting with medical imaging. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Knowledge of medical records management, documentation review, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance. Effective communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
