Registered Dental Hygienist - Dr. Hatem DDS - Los Alamitos, CA

Overview We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our privately owned and community loved dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. Communication and teamwork are a must and well established at our office. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. Experience with EMR systems and dental office software (Dentrix) is helpful. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations. Assist in chairside procedures, supporting dentists during examinations, restorations, and other treatments. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote optimal dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety. Take and develop medical imaging (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, demonstrating patience and effective communication with young patients. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment that adheres to infection control standards. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in dental hygiene practice within a clinical setting; experience with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with children preferred. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment accurately. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security. Experience with EMR systems, medical records management, and general dentistry procedures is advantageous.
