Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Burke, VA

Overview We are a sibling-owned general dental office located in Burke, Virginia looking for a long-term, full-time dental assistant on Monday-Thursday (8AM-4PM) with one Friday (8AM-1PM) a month. We are seeking someone who is willing to learn, cooperative, and brings a welcoming presence to our office. Potential candidate must be able to problem-solve and use critical thinking skills during dental assisting. Hours: Thursday (8:00am-4:30pm) with 1 hour lunch break Friday (8:00am-1:30pm) straight (one friday a month) No weekends Education and Experience: â 2+ years experience in the dental setting (Required) â High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred) â X-ray Certification (Preferred) â BLS/CPR certified (Preferred) â Experience with Open Dental software is a plus! Benefits for Part Time (effective 3 months â one year employment): â Production Bonus â Paid Major Holidays â Well Day Benefit (3 days for sickness, mental health, or bereavement) â Employee and Family Dental Discounts (effective 3 months) â CPR/BLS certifications â CE Courses â Holiday Bonus â Paid Meetings (mandatory lunch and learns, team meetings) Qualifications: â Must be team player â Reliable and punctual â Personable & kind, with the ability to provide excellent customer service â Display honest, ethical, and professional behavior â Willingness to learn, understand and apply knowledge, asks questions for clarification â Willingness to accept critique/feedback for improvement Dental Qualifications : â Digital iTERO scanning (preferred but can be trained) â Knowledge in assisting fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, implants, invisalign (willing to train), general procedure steps â ***Must know how to trim temporary crowns *** â Comfortable taking x-rays Responsibilities include but are not limited to: â Assisting chair-side using 4-handed dentistry â Taking records, x-rays, intraoral images, CBCT â Chart existing restorations, adding treatment plan â Noting Dr. conversation to write detailed chart notes â Using computers to add completed treatment for checkout â Assisting with lab tasks as needed (verifying cases, writing lab slips, taking digital and traditional impressions, molds, etc) â Prepare digital patient charts for existing treatment and future treatment â Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed, nitrous set up â Sterilize instruments according to regulations â Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions, answer patient questions, concerns accurately and honestly â Daily room maintenance, keep supplies stocked, online ordering as needed â Attend mandatory meetings or mandatory lunch and learns (paid) â Maintain patient traffic flow by helping out Hygienists (take x-rays, sterilization, room turnover if needed) â Daily office maintenance, sweep area and wipe clean common touchpoints (2025) Join our team as a Dental Assistant where you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on patient care while developing your skills in a supportive environment.
