Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required, utilizing knowledge of medical imaging and anatomy. Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including medical documentation and medical records management. Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient patient management. Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and gathering medical history. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Support dental reception duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries. Experience The ideal candidate will possess: Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with medical coding and documentation is advantageous. Familiarity with 3D scanning technology is desirable but not mandatory. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members.
