Registered Dental Hygienist - Atlantic Dental Associates - York, ME

We are seeking a friendly and efficient dental hygienist to join our team! Atlantic Dental Associates is a well-established private practice in York, Maine. We have been voted Best Dental Care Facility in the York/Kittery area for 24 consecutive years. Currently, we are looking for someone to fill a full-time or part-time hourly position. This is an immediate opening with an established and rapidly growing patient schedule. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before and during appointments Review and document patient health and dental histories Maintain accurate and detailed clinical notes and periodontal charts Perform thorough and gentle prophylaxis along with scaling, root planning and polishing Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Take X-rays or dental impressions Educate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene techniques Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments and referrals Sterilize dental instruments and treatment room properly Perform other tasks assigned Monitor supplies Skills Proven experience as Dental Hygienist Diploma in Dental Hygiene Valid license to practice in Maine In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession with compliance to OSHA, HIPAA, and other applicable legal requirements Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Ability to communicate professionally with patients and co-workers A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job Proficient computer skills- Dentrix experience preferred We offer our employees paid time off, 7 paid holidays, health and vision insurance, 401(K) with employer matching, an employee discount, and other compensated benefits.
